Designed AWS event-driven flows for DVSA Commercial Vehicle Services — SNS into SQS for true one-to-many notification distribution on VTA / VTM.
Problem
Vehicle Testing Application and Vehicle Testing Management needed notification patterns that scaled beyond brittle point-to-point wiring. Legacy shapes couldn’t fan out cleanly as the CVS estate grew.
System
Architected event-driven processes on AWS — SNS with SQS for one-to-many distribution, TypeScript microservices with Command and Factory patterns, Docker for parity, and Terraform alongside DevOps for new and changing services. Hardened repos with audit scripts and Snyk when vulnerabilities showed up.
Outcome
Notification paths that scale with the service, not against it. CVS systems became easier to extend, observe, and secure — the kind of plumbing national vehicle testing depends on.
